Entrance Lobby

Entrance Lobby

Warm colours, a wide range of textures, and the introduction of vibrant foliage all combine to make for a perfect reception at Hemsworth Court.
The final part of the jigsaw is the incorporation of artwork featuring prominent local landmarks. The scheme is in an area where there is a particularly strong sense of pride in the local community. The artwork helps foster this, but also provides an element of nostalgia and reminiscence.
Bar

Bar

Our priority for the bar at Hemsworth Court was to design a social space that would be both modern and welcoming, suitable for residents who may still be in their fifties, as well as for their families.
We achieved this through combining modern fabrics, attractive lighting and a bespoke bar and display unit.
We're delighted to say this room is extremely popular with both residents and guests at Hemsworth.
Library

Library

The Hemsworth Court library is a spacious room, providing a comfortable social space for those in search of conviviality somewhere a little less lively than the bar.
We designed this room to feature clusters of both traditional and modern seating, with complimentary lighting.
Incorporated into the glass on the left of this image is a manifestation denoting the use of the room, one of many innovative way-finding features that we introduced into the building.
Reminiscence Zone

Reminiscence Zone

You know just how important it is for people living with dementia to have the opportunity for reminiscence. Building that into our design is a key part of ensuring the success of your scheme.
This image shows the Hemsworth Court reminiscence zone. It's an adaptable area with reminiscence at its heart but which may also be used for many other activities.
Although this is a dedicated reminiscence space, we carefully selected artwork and accessories that give Hemsworth Court residents opportunities for reminiscence throughout the building.
Cookery Demonstration Area

Cookery Demonstration Area

This is an innovative space at one end of what could have been a simple residents' lounge. But drawing on the benefits of participation, we designed this cookery area so that it may be used for demonstration purposes.
The double height work surfaces are ideal for this but the design also encourages other interactive activities, such as socialising over a coffee and a slice of freshly baked cake.
Cinema & Games Room

Cinema & Games Room

Versatility is the key to the success of this room; it is a highly adaptable space that can be put to many uses.
This image shows the room in cinema mode, the armchairs and coffee tables making it ideal for a small number of viewers. A set of stacking chairs was also provided to accommodate larger audiences.
The room is also used for playing games which, along with the DVD collection, are tucked neatly away in the attractively designed storage units built around the big screen.
